Dwight Golann

Dwight Golann is a Professor at Suffolk University Law School and a leading teacher and writer on dispute resolution. He has trained judges and lawyers for organizations including the ABA, Department of Justice, European Union, and state and federal courts, and has taught at law schools including Boston University, Penn State, Pepperdine and the Harvard Program of Instruction for Lawyers. 

Professor Golann is the author of numerous publications, including the leading ABA books on mediation and mediation advocacy techniques, and wrote the European Commission’s primary work on advocacy in mediation. His books and videos have been translated into nine languages. Professor Golann brings to his writing and teaching experience mediating hundreds of legal disputes, and is a Certified Mediator for the International Mediation Institute, CPR and other organizations.

Professor Golann was a civil litigator before becoming an academic and neutral and, as Chief of the Government Bureau for the Massachusetts Attorney General, was responsible for the litigation and settlement of all state civil litigation. He is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Law School.


Jay Folberg

Jay Folberg is Professor and Dean Emeritus at the University of San Francisco School of Law. In addition to being an active mediator and arbitrator with JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services), he served as Executive Director of the JAMS Institute for 15 years and is Chair of the JAMS Foundation. Dean Folberg was appointed by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court as chair of a state wide task force on Alternative Dispute Resolution and also chaired the California Judicial Council’s Blue Ribbon Panel on Arbitration Ethics. He was honored with the Judicial Council’s Amicus Curiae Award, its highest honor to a lawyer, “for his leadership in the field of alternative dispute resolution and his outstanding contributions to the California courts.” Dean Folberg is also the recipient of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators Lifetime Achievement Award, the Academy of Family Mediators Distinguished Mediator Award, the Mediation Society’s Outstanding Contribution to Mediation Award, and is past Chair of the ADR Section of the American Association of Law Schools. Dean Folberg has conducted mediation and negotiation trainings throughout the world.
